Lead Product Designer
Moven is a data-driven digital bank turned into a SaaS personal finance manager and bank-in-a-box. Moven strives to provide a solution that encourages the end user to learn about and improve their finances all while keeping them n the app. Catering to clients worldwide has helped the company keep an open mind when considering creative solutions as well as expand on various types of financial features.
Over the past six years, I worked as a Product Designer at Moven where I was a leader in design for the whole company. As Moven continued to grow, the mission and product evolved as well and so I had to adapt quickly to reflect the new intended experience. My primary focus was always on the app, creating new features, updating and carrying through a new design system, and collaborating with project leaders, developers, and banking partners around the world to create the best and most polished output. I managed user testing events in person and completed quantitative testing at multiple banks and online through usertesting.com. The insight from these events lead to hugely productive optimizations for the app.
Before the world was shut down in 2020, I lead a Rapid Design Week with banks in Chile, Vietnam, Russia, Indonesia, and Tanzania, this was Moven’s technique to help finalize the sale. During these design sessions, we would brainstorm accommodating supplemental wants and needs for each customer, edited our existing content to ensure it made sense in the host country, white labeled the solution so it matched the bank’s brand, and on occasion, we would perform user testing. After Covid I designed two apps for banks in Japan and Honduras as well as multiple community banks in the states.
