2012-2016
Lead Designer & Front End Developer
Jarvus Innovations is a software engineering consulting firm on Philadelphia's own N3rd St. Jarvus' client-base ranges from local startups and enterprise companies to educational organizations and the civic sector. We have tackled projects from the ground up including wireframing, designs, and development from projects with a depreciated code base that needed a full rewrite. With the profits Jarvus earns, the funds are reinvested in building products to innovate industries that we feel passionate about such as educational technology, the open data movement, and more.
I initially started at Jarvus as a college intern during my junior year of studies at Drexel and was offered a full time position as a Web Designer. Due to my unique skillset -- web designer, front-end engineer, and leadership abilities -- it wasn't long before the managing partners promoted me to be the first Director of Design for Jarvus. In addition to being on the board of directors and weighing in on management decisions, I am the ultimate authority on the design for anything that Jarvus produces. Whether the client produced the initial designs or we provided the design services, I am responsible for reviewing all final products prior to their launch. In addition to client design and branding, I oversee Jarvus' branding as well as all of the subsidiary companies within Jarvus including Ontray, Slate, LocalHost, and Jarvus GateKeeper. My design responsibilities for Jarvus are not limited to the digital world. When the team switched offices, I put on my interior decorator hat and went to work! I am proud to have provided my coworkers with a progressive open space office to work in which presents clients with a professional atmosphere all while echoing the geek-chic attitude of Jarvus. My experiences with Jarvus have provided me with the tools and knowledge I need to tackle any problem that comes my way (and make it look good in the process).
